My latest contribution to Curbed NY’s Curbed Classics series profiled a home in Astoria, Queens.

It’s the pre-Civil War home built by the Pike family, later bought by William Steinway (one of the sons in Steinway & Sons), and eventually sold to Jack Halberian. It’s a fascinating story and I learned a lot, in particular about how influential the Steinways were in the development of New York City. Please check it out here.
