So, my friend Kate and I were overdue for dinner in Hoboken.
We try to do dinner in Hoboken every so often since there are a lot of restaurants there and it’s on her way home from work.
So, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, we decided to meet up and have dinner, but without a destination for said meal. So, we decided to meet at Washington and 1st since she was coming from the PATH train.
We eventually came upon 1 Republik, located at 221 Washington Street. It looks like it’s brand new.
We sat down, ordered beer and food. Kate got a Yuengling and I had a Samuel Adams Noble Pils (which, like my co-worker Chris Rauch said, is better in the bottle).
Anyway, we decided to start with an order of the chicken quesadillas (pepperjack, chilies & roasted red peppers). They come with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.
We quite liked the quesadillas.
Kate ordered a Buffalo Soldier Burger (Crumbled Bleu Cheese, Buffalo Sauce, Frisee) and she enjoyed it.
I got the BLT Burger (Grilled Double Cut Bacon, Beefsteak Tomato, Bibb Lettuce, Garlic Aioli). I found my burger a bit overdone.
The prices for food weren’t outrageous and they have an extensive beer selection. So, I’d say you should count it as a good option in Hoboken.
