There have been many ads for Manhattan Mini Storage over the years, some amusing, some controversial, and some basic and straightforward.

One took on the abortion issue with some reference to hangers.

Another made a play on the movie Brokeback Mountain. It featured a cowboy holding a teddy bear with the line “I wish I could quit you.”

Still another took on President George W. Bush. I took this photo with my cell phone two cell phones ago. It reads “Your closet’s scarier than Bush’s agenda.”

On Thursday, March 17, 2011, after leaving work, I saw a new one being installed at the location on 11th Avenue and West 58th Street.

It reads “Nobody becomes famous in Des Moines.”

I just thought I’d share.
