My friend Penny and I decided we would celebrate it being Friday by going out for sushi on January 21, 2011. We ended up at a place called Sushi Sen-Nin at 30 East 33rd Street.

Neither of us had been there before.

Of course, we had hot sake.

We started out with some very flavorful miso soup.

sdThen we moved on to the sushi! We had three rolls – spicy tuna; salmon and avocado; and the Sunny Ebi roll (shrimp and mango). We also had three sushis – Hotate (fresh sea scallop); Hamachi (yellowtail); and Sawara (Spanish mackerel). It was all very fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our dinner.

The service was very good. The decor was nice. I’m sorry I didn’t take any photos of the inside of the restaurant itself. When our check came, it was accompanied by two Krackel bars. I do like the combination of crisped rice and chocolate.

After dinner, we went to a wine bar called Wine 30, located at 41 East 30th Street. We had some wonderful wines and a great time.
