On Wednesday, January 19, 2011, my friend Kate and I planned to have dinner together in Hoboken. We had planned to go to a place called Pita Grill, but it was deserted. So, it being Hoboken, we just kept walking and came upon East LA, a Mexican restaurant at 508 Washington Street.
Sorry this shot is a bit blurry.
They served us chips and salsa. On the Mexican restaurant chips and salsa scale, they were pretty good.
Kate had a strawberry margarita and I had a regular one. They were refreshing.
We were going to have this shrimp appetizer, but they were out of it. They were also out of our backup choices, so we didn’t get an appetizer. That was fine, since we had plenty of food.
Kate had the “Industrial Quesadilla” for dinner. It has chorizo sausage, mushrooms, and onions in it. She enjoyed it.
I had the combination plate of a chicken enchilada and beef burrito. The enchilada was good, but the burrito was really just the beef inside the tortilla, so I won’t get an ordinary burrito there again.
We had a lot of fun. I would go back there, but, of course, there are so many restaurants in Hoboken. So, next time I’m there, I’ll try somewhere new.
